Established in 1949, Macfarlane Generators today has more than 60 staff members specialising in the supply, installation, parts and servicing of Power Generator sets for industrial, commercial, domestic and recreational applications.

Our Melbourne based national operation offers a comprehensive range of power generation equipment from small portable power units to complete power houses equipped with the latest technology.  We also have extensive renewable energy experience with solar and wind power generation.

From 1kVA portable to 2MW power stations powered by diesel, petrol or renewable energy, Macfarlane can supply and service every power requirement for the camper or caravanner, residential and housing projects, industrial sites and manufacturing complexes all the way up to to larger projects for shopping centres, as well as mining and construction projects.

Macfarlane not only stocks an extensive array of quality brand name Generator sets and hard to source spare parts, but is also renowned Australia-wide for the design and construction of robust, purpose-built units to suit specific customer requirements.  Macfarlane Generators pioneered the development of acoustically-silenced Generators for film and television applications in Australia over 30 years ago.

Built specifically to suit the rigours of the diverse Australian climate, every Macfarlane Generator is engineered for maximum reliability and ease of maintenance, and is backed up by a comprehensive stock of service and replacement parts to suit all major brands.

Routine servicing and maintenance is the focus of Macfarlane's extensive technical support to customers.  Our Melbourne workshop also rebuilds Generator sets for resale at very economical prices, together with overhauling diesel engines, and the re-winding of alternators.

Our Service and Engineering staff are skilled at providing customers with a wide range of maintenance services from a basic service to complete strip downs and rebuilds.

Macfarlane Generators offers installations and servicing on everything we sell as well as most other makes of Generators.

We specialise in the following brands - Cummins, Perkins and FG Wilson, Detroit, Dorman, Gentech, Greaves, Kipor, Kohler, Kubota, Leroy Somer, Lister, Markon, MeccAlte, Mellga, Onan, Petbow, Robin, Rolls Royce, Ruston, Sincro, Stamford, Subaru, Taiyo, Yamaha and Yanmar to name a few.

For many years the company operated from Carinish Rd Clayton, however with continued growth, the site was busting at the seams. Access was poor because of increased traffic and in recent years the company operated from four sites in Clayton.  

In 2008, a large site in Clayton South came up for sale and the company purchased the new site which now covers 11,250 sq meters with approximately 8,500 sq meters of workshops and offices. 

 

 

 

 

We relocated our Head Office in August 2009 with Generator Hire, Sales, Service, Solar, Engineering and Parts Departments now all under the one roof and the shift has shown benefits better than anticipated.

 

 

 

 

After a number of years being in Castle Hill NSW, the year 2012 saw Macfarlane Generators NSW Office relocate into larger Showroom and Warehouse facilities where we will be able to improve Sales, Service, Spare Parts and Hire of Generators and Renewable Energy products for our customers
