Wattpic Polaris is a new adjustable single axis polar tracker for flat rooftops. Its main target application is for residential and commercial grid connected PV systems on flat rooftop buildings. It is characterized by its startling simplicity, based on an inclined single tracking axis oriented north-south. This axis is moved using a DC linear actuator under an astronomical control algorithm. The electronics and the mechanics result in a system cost very close to that of a fixed installation, while the yearly energy yield can be increased between a 25% and 35%, depending on location.

The Wattpic’s patented Centaurus Tracker (1 and 2 axis) increases the electricity production of the PV modules significantly.
