Capacity built for continuous, remote operation
We've supplied mining generators up to 1MW, with a general supply capacity of up to 2,500kVA. A single unit for a remote site in WA or QLD and a larger multi-unit installation get specified the same careful way, around the site's actual load, with dust, heat and remote access all factored in.
Prime power or standby generator, know which one you need
Prime power runs continuously as the site's main source. Standby power sits ready to take over the moment the main supply fails. They're specified differently, so it's worth settling which one your site needs before equipment is ordered rather than partway through.
How far our support actually goes
Our role covers supply, technical guidance, installation support and commissioning, working directly with your site's own installation team. We'll tell you plainly where that support starts and stops, rather than let you assume we're running the whole project when we're not.
Working within your site's requirements
Every site runs its own SWMS, safety and access requirements, and they rarely match from one operator to the next. Our people carry the electrical and mechanical certifications, licences and generator-specific training to work inside them. Tell us what your site needs and we'll confirm the fit.
Over 77 years in the industry
That's long enough to have seen most of what a remote site can throw at a generator. Parts and service sit in-house, so when something needs attention, the person on the phone already understands the equipment.
The generator brands we put on mine sites
For heavy-duty prime and standby power in demanding environments, we lean on Cummins for premium industrial reliability and Pramac for portable and mobile units that hold up moving between sites. Tell us your site's duty cycle and conditions and we'll match the brand to it.

How to find what power generator you need
The Macfarlane Generators Power Calculator helps you estimate the generator size required for your application by calculating power demand, motor starting loads, and electrical conversions such as kVA, kW, amps, and horsepower. Designed for homeowners, tradies, and industrial operators, it provides practical tools and power consumption guides to help you select the right generator with confidence. Whether you're planning backup power, construction site equipment, or large-scale operations, the calculator simplifies generator sizing and power planning.
