Macfarlane Generators has provided permanent and temporary power to sheep-carrying and Pilcher-catching ships, truck trailers bound for Vanuatu, many airports, ski-fields, gold mines and hospitals, field days, concerts such as INXS, Bruce Springsteen and the Edinburgh Tattoo at the MCG, Sewerage Discharge outlets, islands in Papua New Guinea, holiday camps such as at Wilsons Prom., the Cadbury’s factory at Heathmont, a timber mill in Cambodia, the last Australian tour of Evil Knievel, small towns not yet on the grid, the first years of the Grand Prix at Phillip Island, telecommunication stations for Motorola and Telstra, and powered the build of the tunnel under the Sydney Harbour.

Macfarlane Generators pioneered the development of acoustically-silenced Generators for film and television applications in Australia over 30 years ago. Since then, we have provided power for such films as the Loveboat, Paul Hogan’s films The Anzacs and Crocodile Dundee, Mutiny on the Bounty – filmed in New Zealand, Green Frogs are Dreaming, Firefly, The Man from Snowy River and Archer. We have also provided power for television productions, such as Neighbours for ten years, and provide ongoing power and service to Channels 2, 7 and 9.

Routine servicing and maintenance is the focus of Macfarlane's extensive technical support to customers. Our Melbourne workshop also rebuilds Generator sets for resale at very economical prices, together with overhauling diesel engines, and the re-winding of alternators.

Our Service and Engineering staff are skilled at providing customers with a wide range of maintenance services from a basic service to complete strip downs and rebuilds.
